Hiya, my name's Joe Willis. (Pronouns: He/They)

I'm a Queer Northern writer whose work often subverts genre, examining the extraordinary, the macabre and the surreal through a lens of offbeat humour, grounded characters and a bittersweet tone.

I have been selected for the following schemes:

BBC Writersroom Northern Voices, BBC Children’s Voices, Sky Studios Table Reads, Screen Yorkshire Flex and have taken part in both the Writersroom for CBeebies Presents and CBBC/BBC Sketch Show The Amelia Gething Complex, as well as being a credited episode writer for the latter. I have also had multiple short films funded and supported by the BFI Network.

Previously, I was Development Executive for the award-winning Tyke Films and have regularly script edited and read for the BFI Network. I am also a BAFTA Connect Member, WGGB member and BIFA voter.

Check out my resume Here.
